My name is Mike Young and I am honored to have the opportunity to ride with "Pedal for Pat". I have been an avid cyclist for many years and have ridden locally in many charity rides and ride out of a local bike shop (West Bikes), in Farragut. I am from Venice, Florida and graduated from Florida State University in 1974. I raised my family and worked out of Akron, Ohio in the manufacturing sector in technical sales for many years prior to starting my own business in 2005 in Canton, GA., providing commercial embroidery and screen print products to various industries, and moved the business to Knoxville several years ago. I am retiring as of April 2017 and am looking forward to serving others both in missions related travel as well as walking with those who are hurting. My wife, Roberta, who recently passed away from Ovarian Cancer, watched as her father died from the debilitating effects of Alzheimer's related disease and was always concerned about the effect, both physically and mentally, it had on both her father and his caregiver, her mother. I am thankful for organizations like "The Pat Summit Foundation" that not only take up the cause of a disease but remain pro-active in their efforts to fight and defeat debilitating diseases like Alzheimer's, Dementia, and Parkinson's.
